The American Medical Association (AMA) is a big proponent of exercise as a form of preventative medicine. They partnered with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) to create the “Exercise is Medicine” program which advocates that:

  • Regular exercise is crucial in reducing the risk of various chronic diseases like heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and even some cancers
  • The overall health benefits include a wide range of positive impacts exercise has, including better sleep, improved cognitive function, weight management, stronger bones, and even reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety.

So, daily exercise might not always be practical, but the AMA surely endorses making physical activity a regular part of your life to experience its numerous health benefits.
